Affiliate disclosure
Last updated .
The short version. None of the four platforms compared on this tool pays us anything today. If that changes, it will be disclosed next to every affected link, in line with the US Federal Trade Commission's rules on clear and conspicuous disclosure.
Which links pay us, exactly
None of the four: Acorns, Robinhood, Webull and Betterment. Every link to any of them on this site is a plain link to their official site, with no affiliate tracking attached, because we are not in any of their affiliate programs today. A table with four identical rows would not tell you anything a sentence cannot, so we are not publishing one just to look thorough.
We intend to apply to affiliate programs for some or all of these platforms where one exists. If any of them approves us, this page changes on the same day: the newly-active platform gets its own row with its own label, and the sentence above stops being accurate for the others until we update it. The labels shown next to each link are generated from a single configuration file precisely so they cannot fall out of sync with reality.
Why you can still trust the result
There is a stronger version of the usual answer here than on our other tools: right now, none of the four platforms compared pays us a commission, so there is currently nothing for the quiz or the comparison to be biased toward. On top of that:
- The quiz scoring rules are published in full. There is no commission term anywhere in them, now or if a partnership is approved later.
- The final tiebreak in the quiz uses each platform's number of finalized FINRA regulatory events, a verified, objective figure that has nothing to do with who pays more.
- Every recommendation lists that platform's real limitations in the same panel as its strengths, including the ones with the fewest regulatory issues.
Technical detail
If and when an affiliate link goes live here, it will carry rel="sponsored", as
Google requires, plus our own UTM parameters so we can see which page and button people click.
Those parameters identify the button, not you. We do not use link cloaking or redirects that
disguise where a link goes. Hover over any button and you will see the real destination.
What we do not accept
We do not take payment for placement, for a higher score, or for a more favorable write-up. No platform on this page has seen it before publication, reviewed our wording, or has any right to. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here first.
