Privacy policy

This policy covers the FinanzaX Decide investing app comparison tool at finanzaxhq.com/decide/investing-apps/, which compares Acorns, Robinhood, Webull and Betterment. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

What we collect

Your quiz answers and calculator inputs are not collected

The quiz and the compound growth calculator are client-side JavaScript. Your answers, your starting amount, your monthly contribution and your assumed return are processed in your browser and never transmitted to our servers or to anyone else. Close the tab and they are gone. There is nothing to request or delete because there is nothing stored.

Star ratings, saved only if you leave one

After you finish the quiz, we may ask whether the comparison helped. If you rate it, we store the star rating (1 to 5) and the short comment you write, if any. Neither requires your name or email. This uses the same verification mechanism as our course platform comparison tool, but stores this tool's ratings in a separate, independent table, never mixed with the other tool's data.

To stop a rating being submitted by someone who never used the tool, your browser asks our server for a one-time confirmation code the moment your result appears, before you rate anything. That code carries no information about which answers you picked or your calculator inputs, only a random string that expires the moment it is used, or after a day if it goes unused. Submitting a rating spends that code once; it cannot be reused, and requesting a new one is rate-limited per network address so the ratings stay genuine.

That rate limit runs on a one-way cryptographic hash of your network address, not the address itself. We cannot reverse the hash back into an address, and it is never stored alongside your rating or comment, only checked in passing while a code is issued.

Once there are enough real ratings to summarize honestly, we display an aggregate score on this page. We do not publish a summary, or invent one, before that point.

Your email address, collected only if you give it

If you submit the form on the results page, we collect the email address you enter. We use it to send you pricing and regulatory-status alerts for the platform you matched with and, occasionally, notes about the other platforms compared here. Every email has an unsubscribe link, as required by the US CAN-SPAM Act. Unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Email is handled by Systeme.io, which acts as our email service provider and stores this data on our behalf. This tool uses its own, separate mailing list, distinct from the one used by our course platform comparison tool: signing up here does not add you to that other list, and vice versa. Your address is not sold, rented or shared with the platforms compared on this site.

Analytics only loads after you consent

If and only if you press "Accept analytics", we load Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled, to see which parts of the tool people use. If you press "Reject", or simply ignore the banner, no analytics script is loaded at all. This is enforced in code, not just stated here. You can verify it: reject, then check your browser's network tab.

Local storage

We store one item in your browser's local storage, named fxd-consentimiento-v1, recording your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page. It contains only the word "accepted" or "rejected". This is the same storage key used by our course platform comparison tool at finanzaxhq.com/decide/course-platforms/, on purpose: it is the same site under the same domain, so one cookie decision applies across both tools instead of asking twice. It is not a tracking identifier and never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Server logs

Our host, Hostinger, keeps standard web server logs including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. This is ordinary hosting infrastructure and applies to any website.

Affiliate links

None of Acorns, Robinhood, Webull or Betterment is an active affiliate partner of ours as of the date at the top of this page (see the affiliate disclosure). If that changes, clicking an affiliate link may cause the destination platform to set its own cookie to attribute the referral. That happens on their site under their privacy policy, not ours. Our own UTM parameters identify which button was clicked, not who clicked it.

Third parties

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information, as that term is defined by the CCPA.

In practice, the only personal data we hold from this tool is an email address, if you gave us one, and any optional comment you chose to write alongside a star rating. To see it, correct it or have it deleted, email hello@finanzaxhq.com and we will act within 30 days. To withdraw analytics consent, clear this site's data in your browser and choose "Reject" when the banner returns.

Children

This site is intended for adults making their own investing decisions. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it, and we will say what changed rather than quietly editing the text.
